Hanamiyama is a private-owned hill on which the owner made a living by planting various kinds of flowers and trees. It has been a popular hanami spot (flower-viewing spot) since it opened to public in 1959. A distinguished Japanese photographer heralded it as Paradise of Flowers in Fukushima. Besides cherry blossoms, the hill is carpeted with plum, peach blossoms, forsythia, etc. every spring.
