<p>Vast Maruyama Park houses virgin forest, sports ground, zoo, baseball field, Hokkaido Shrine, etc.. Around 2,000 cherry blossom trees are planted at Hokkaido Shrine and the rest of the park. Due to special climate in Hokkaido, sakura and plum flowers flourish at the same time, which is quite special in Japan.</p>

How to visit
Access:
From Sapporo Station, take the Nanboku subway line to Odori Station, then transfer to a Tozai line subway and head west toward Miyanosawa. Get off at Maruyama-Koen Station.
