Okitama Basin, in the south of Yamagata Prefecture, is studded with abundant cherry blossom trees, some of which are precious rare varieties. This large area of sakura trees, which stretches 43km, from Akayu Hot Spring to Shiratakimachi, form a picturesque cherry blossoms corridor.
